Originally from Spain, Lu moved to Seattle over a decade ago. Originally a Veranda parent, with 3 of her own children having gone through our preschool program as she worked for one of our local big tech companies, the pandemic offered a cathartic opportunity to rethink everything. Taking a leap of faith into early childhood education and pursuing her Montessori certification, Lu brings her enthusiasm and creativity into her multiple roles at Veranda Montessori.

Some of her special interests are around language development, bilingual education, championing diversity, and hands on cooking with the children in class. She is also somewhat of a nerd and thinks Montessori math materials are the coolest thing ever.

Outside of school hours she can often be found, well, back at school working on improvements (because that's what happens in a small single classroom school), spending time with her family, and with her nose buried in a good book.
